This is a complete guide to the top five wedding venues in Waterford, Ireland in 2022.
Are you getting married in Ireland and still deciding on which wedding venue to choose? This guide will help.
Waterford City was recently voted the best place to live in Ireland, and was also named as Ireland’s only clean city.
The Emerald Isle is quite simply a beautiful country to visit, and Waterford should be top of your radar as one of the best places to get married in Ireland.
This guide is based on my many years’ experience of working in wedding venues all over Ireland and the UK.
All views are my own and I am not being paid or influenced by any of the wedding venues below. They are listed in no particular order.
So where is the best place in Waterford to get married? Let’s get started.
Waterford Castle Resort
The stunning Waterford Castle
Waterford castle is simply an unforgettable place to visit, and an amazing wedding venue to get married in.
How many people are able to say that they got married in their own castle set on a private island?
The hotel describes itself as ‘idyllic seclusion’, a luxury 16th century castle estate situated on a 310 acre Island. It enjoys a romantic and captivating view of the River Suir and the surrounding countryside.
Its main dining room, the Munster Room, creates a unique atmosphere with its wood-panelled walls and high ceilings. It has a unique character with an old-fashioned boyish charm.
To top it off, their wedding coordinator won Wedding Planner of the Year 2020 at the Irish Hotel Awards.
Faithlegg House
The amazing Faithlegg
The stylish and luxurious four star countryside estate at Faithlegg is perfect for the modern and sophisticated couple of today’s world. It combines the charm of the traditional manor houses of old with a modern decor to reflect it’s established holding in Waterford.
Faithlegg was voted Ireland's most stylish hotel at the Hi Style Awards in 2019 and 2021.
The wedding venue has a lot of options inside for various forms of wedding vows. It has St Nicholas’ Church inside the gates of the estate if you would like to have a catholic wedding ceremony.
The Adelaide Blake Suite
Or if you are looking to have a civil ceremony you can use the simply stunning and newly refurbished Adelaide Blake Suite. With its high ceilings that let in an enormous amount of natural light, you will be blown away by its stunning beauty.
You also have the option to have your wedding outside in their purpose built marquee set on the delightful grounds of the estate.
I have both attended and worked at this wedding venue, and you simply cannot go wrong if you choose to get married at Faithlegg.
The Tower Hotel and Leisure Centre
Set in the heart of Waterford City, in the shadow of the famous Reginald’s Tower, The Tower Hotel has stunning views over the quay and River Suir. There is no better wedding venue in the heart of Waterford.
Close to all of the shops and local amenities it is the perfect wedding venue to stay over in and then enjoy the benefits of Waterford’s charming local shops the next day.
The Tower has been hosting weddings for over 55 years and remains one of the most famous hotels in the city. Having recently undergone a makeover, with an extension to the bar and restaurant, your guests are guaranteed to have a great time.
I got married here myself back in 2016 and can contest how great a wedding venue this place is.
The Haven Hotel,
Dunmore East
The Haven Hotel is situated in the heart of Dunmore East - one of the most sought-after places to live in Waterford.
The hotel has a large beautiful garden that looks over Hook Head. It can provide you with quite simply stunning wedding photos.
One of my favourite places to take my couples for their photoshoot when I film here is Woodstown beach, which is only a short drive away. I like my wedding films to tell stories, and taking a short walk along this peaceful beach makes my videos stand out so much more.
The Haven Hotel specialises in bespoke weddings, be this a small wedding in their function room, or a larger wedding outside in their purpose-built marquee.
You can’t go wrong having your wedding at this beautiful beach-side wedding venue.
The Park Hotel,
Dungarvan
Overlooking the beautiful Waterford coastline, this wedding venue has stunning views over the Colligan River.
Perfectly located in the heart of Dungarvan, The Park Hotel has a simply stunning ballroom that can accommodate over 300 people. The room enjoys high ceilings with large windows that let in a huge amount of light. This will make your wedding video look simply beautiful.
For smaller weddings, they are able to accommodate couples in their bright and spacious Comeragh Suite.
With a red-carpet entrance on arrival, alongside a professional and friendly service, have peace of mind knowing that you’re being looked after by a hotel at the top of its game.
